The Georgia Bulldogs recently lost four-star commit James Johnson to the Texas Longhorns, but Kirby Smart came in clutch by landing another top defender this week from the class of 2026.
On3's Hayes Fawcett reported on Friday, July 18, that the Bulldogs have secured a pledge from four-star defensive lineman Valdine Sone.
"BREAKING: Four-Star DL Valdin Sone has Committed to Georgia, he tells me for @rivals. The 6’4 320 DL from Sweden chose the Bulldogs over Florida, Nebraska, & Auburn," Fawcett wrote on X/Twitter.

Sone, originally from Sweden with Cameroonian roots, ranks No. 46 overall and the No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2026 class. He’s also the No. 3 player in the state of Virginia.
“I’m putting every international kid on the map, shout-out to Sweden and Cameroon," Sone said shortly after committing.
At 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, Sone is a massive yet athletic addition to Georgia's trenches.
Naturally, Sone received offers from several SEC powerhouses, but the Dawgs were able to win him over. He joins three other four-star defensive linemen that Georgia has already committed to their 2026 class so far: Preston Cary, PJ Dean, and Carter Luckie.
Georgia currently boasts the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class and has 30 players committed to their recruiting class of 2026:
