Mike Gundy dons wrestling singlet to promote Oklahoma St. match

The No. 1-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys wrestling program has a huge showdown with the No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions this weekend, so the team enlisted the services of head football coach Mike Gundy to spread the word.

Given Gundy’s larger-than-life personality — the guy rocks a hairstyle dubbed “The Gundy Mullet” after all — it should come as no surprise that the football coach went all out for a video promoting the big match by donning a wrestling singlet for the video.

It’s really quite the scene.

Talk about a commitment to the cause. It would be great to hear what Gundy fanatic Billy Ray Cyrus thinks of this slightly surreal video.

It is worth noting, as Dr. Saturday points out, that Gundy was an elite wrestler at the junior-high level, going undefeated. So it’s not like he hasn’t donned a singlet before. Although it came eons before the 49-year-old’s infamous “I’m a man, I’m 40!” rant from way back when.
