USC QB Jaxson Dart entering transfer portal after Lincoln Riley arrival

Lincoln Riley has already landed a few prized recruits since he accepted the head coaching job at USC in November, but the quarterback position for the Trojans is still unsettled. First, Kedon Slovis transferred to Pittsburgh in December and now Jaxson Dart is in the transfer portal as of Monday.

Dart came to USC in 2021 as a highly touted prospect and quickly earned snaps as a true freshman, although a meniscus tear and a subsequent surgery cost him several games. By the end of the season, Dart had taken over as the Trojans' starter and finished the season with nine touchdowns and five interceptions.

The decision to enter the transfer portal for Dart comes immediately after Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams -- who entered the portal last week -- visited USC over the weekend, according to Scott Schrader of WeAreSC. If Williams does choose to join the Trojans, he will likely bring Mario Williams along with him, as the Oklahoma wide receiver said he wants to continue to be teamed up with the quarterback.

Dart is from Draper, Utah and was named Gatorade National Football Player of the Year in high school. He committed to USC over Arizona State, UCLA, and BYU.
