Although their first warm-up match against India was washed out, England have another chance to fine-tune their preparations in the warm-up fixture against Bangladesh at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. The Asian Tigers won the toss and opted to bat in the 6th official warm-up game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Jos Buttler said England wanted to bowl anyway, so the result of the toss was actually a win-win scenario for both the sides.

England though have had the better of the opening exchanges, with Reece Topley making the new ball talk to claim a couple of Bangladeshi wickets.
