In a topsy-turvy encounter, Rajasthan Royals prevailed over an adamant Delhi Capitals after a well-oiled bowling effort backed up Riyan Parag’s batting masterclass. It handed Royals their second win on the trot, while Rishabh Pant’s men were subjected to another tough pill to swallow in their second outing of IPL 2024.

As the equation came down to 17 off the final over, Rajasthan Royals pacer Avesh Khan stepped up to bowl a boundary-less over against the well-set batters as he executed his yorkers to perfection. In stark contrast, the final over of the first innings read 4, 4, 6 , 4 , 6, 1 as Parag blazed away to an unbeaten 84 and propelled Rajasthan Royals to a competitive total.

Delhi Capitals have a couple of days to rest and recover before they take on Chennai Super Kings in their adopted home of Vizag on March 31. The following day, Rajasthan Royals play their first away contest of the season as they travel to Mumbai.

Brief Scores: Rajasthan Royals 185/5 (Riyan Parag 84*) beat Delhi Capitals 173/5 (David Warner 49, Tristan Stubbs 44*; Yuzvendra Chahal 2/19) by 12 runs
