India and England are currently locking horns in the fifth Test in Dharamshala. On Day 1 (March 7), Shubman Gill grabbed a brilliant catch to dismiss opener Ben Duckett.
On the last ball of the 18th over, Kuldeep Yadav gave the first breakthrough when he bowled a googly around the off stump. Duckett mistimed his shot as he swung his bat but ended up cutting it over the cover region.
Gill kept watching the ball while sprinting before he grabbed it to end Duckett’s stay at the crease. England lost their first wicket after putting 64 runs on the scoreboard.

Duckett played 58 balls and scored 27 runs with the help of four boundaries. His opening partner, Zak Crawley, made 78 runs from 108 balls with 11 boundaries and a six before Kuldeep got rid of him as well in the 38th over.
Sunil Gavaskar compares Shubman Gill’s catch with Travis Heads’ in World Cup
Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar brought back the painful memories of India’s World Cup final loss to Australia after Shubman Gill’s catch. While doing commentary, Gavaskar recalled how Australia’s Travis Head also grabbed a similar catch to get rid of India captain Rohit Sharma, who gave a quick start to their innings in Ahmedabad.

That game-changing catch shifted the momentum as the other batters were finding it hard to keep the scoreboard running. India posted 240 in 50 overs and later, Head’s century (120-ball 137) guided Australia to their sixth World Cup victory.
