Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their IPL 2026 league-stage with a big victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Hyderabad. After posting a monstrous 255/4 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH had the defending champions gasping for air but somehow, RCB managed to maintain their top-two finish after getting past the 165-run mark necessary to save their net run rate advantage, despite falling short by 55 runs in an explosive, high-scoring affair.

SRH's batting had already laid down their intention early on with a whirlwind fifty off just 22 balls by Abhishek Sharma followed by a measured 79 off 46 by Ishan Kishan at the top of the order. Heinrich Klaasen continued his excellent IPL campaign with a blazing 51 off just 24 balls, clubbing as many as three sixes in a remarkable 27-run over by Josh Hazlewood. The aggressive finishing touches by Nitish Kumar Reddy's unbeaten 29 off just 12 balls saw Sunrisers cruise past the 250-run mark.
RCB's batters attacked right from the outset and gave the fans a glimpse of the chasing game that was necessary but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Venkatesh Iyer led the charge with a rapid 44 off 19 balls before Malinga bagged his wicket. Young pacer Sakib Hussain picked up Virat Kohli for 15 after some on-field altercation between the ace RCB batter and Travis Head. Devdutt Padikkal added 21 before SRH's bowlers continued to break crucial partnerships at regular intervals. Although Patidar (56), Krunal (41*), and Tim David (15*) displayed some guts, their effort fell short as RCB lost by 55 runs. However, RCB managed to score over 165, which means they secured a vital Qualifier 1 berth along with Gujarat Titans.
