Adele's stance on reality television: 'My brain will die' if I watch it

Adele is too busy for reality television, but even when she does have downtime, there are some shows she refuses to watch.

While on the latest installment of "Power of Makeup" on the popular NikkieTutorials YouTube channel, host and makeup artist Nikkie de Jager asked Adele if she has watched The Real Housewives franchise since moving to Los Angeles.

"I don't. I don't. I can't," the 15-time Grammy winner asserted. "I know a lot of people love it. I can't. Because my brain will die. I can't. Also, I don't know who any of them are so I don't feel like I can start from the beginning when it's been on for so long. But then also, I'm not gonna lie, it doesn't work for me. One time I did watch one episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey when they were all literally killing each other, but it was too much. I was like, I can't."

Adele admitted she is guilty of watching "mind-numbing TV," but when the urge strikes, she usually watches wildlife programs or "something that I actually learn from, educational."

"Like Love Island?" Nikkie joked.

"I can't bear that show!" Adele responded. "Oh, my God. My son's dad loves stuff like that. And I remember one time trying to get into it when I was home for a summer doing shows. I couldn't believe it. And she was like, 'I hope my mum's proud of me,' and I'm thinking like, 'You all are having sex on TV!' Actually having sex."

Adele was even more beside herself when Nikkie explained the concept behind Temptation Island, where couples go on the show, separate into different houses and see if they can survive being seduced by single people: "They voluntarily go on to that show?! People will do anything to be famous. It's insane. It's insane!"
