Anna Faris reveals she and Micheal Barrett eloped: 'It was awesome'
Anna Faris and Michael Barrett can keep a secret.
The newest episode of the Anna Faris Is Unqualified podcast featuring guest Gail Simmons was drawing to a close, with Faris and co-host April Beyer fielding a question from a caller.
"My fiancé's right—he's now my husband," Faris said.
"What?" Beyer replied. "What?!"
"Yes, we eloped," the 44-year-old actress confirmed. "I'm sorry, honey. I just blurted that out. But I can't say fiancé anymore. It was awesome. Yeah, it was great. It was a local courthouse up in Washington State. It was great."
Faris was raised in Edmonds, Wash., and attended the University of Washington. She did not linger on the subject of her new marriage, keeping the details private in the way most people prefer when they decide to elope.
The Mom alumnus revealed her engagement to the 51-year-old filmmaker while visiting The Late Late Show with James Corden in mid-February 2020, and she joked about wanting to officiate her own wedding:
Faris first married actor Ben Indra in 2004, and their divorce was finalized in early 2008. She previously admitted to leaving Indra because she fell for then-co-star Chris Pratt on Take Me Home Tonight.
Faris and Pratt wed in 2009 and then shocked fans everywhere by publicly announcing their split in August 2017. They share an eight-year-old son named Jack. Pratt has since remarried to Katherine Schwarzenegger, with whom he shares a nearly one-year-old daughter named Lyla.
The House Bunny and Scary Movie star posited during a March episode of Unqualified with Gwyneth Paltrow that "competitiveness and comparison" were at the root of her problems in her first two marriages because they were both actors (h/t E!).
Faris met Barrett on the set of the 2018 remake of Overboard. She played Kate Sullivan, and he served as the cinematographer.
"We had an immediate kind of intimacy," she told People in May. "We're both probably introverts in a very similar way. And he has two children, and that has been awesome. I've really learned a lot about myself through his kids. It's been really rewarding."
