Avril Lavigne enlists Tony Hawk for 'Sk8er Boi' TikTok

Avril Lavigne posted her first TikTok on Monday (June 21), and she is undefeated.

The 36-year-old reverted back to 2002, when she was an up-and-coming angst punk-pop princess, and lip-synced "Sk8er Boi" with a perfect cameo from skateboard legend Tony Hawk:

"Sk8er Boi" was the third track on Lavigne's 2002 debut album Let Go. The project was led by single "Complicated," which claimed song of the year at the 45th Grammy Awards. "Sk8er Boi" was also nominated for a Grammy in the best female rock vocal performance.

"Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi" each cracked the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100—peaking at No. 2 and No. 10 respectively—but it wasn't until 2007's "Girlfriend" that the Canadian singer-songwriter topped the chart for the first and only time in her career.

More importantly, Hawk released a behind-the-scenes clip from Lavigne trying to learn how to skate:

The timing of Lavigne's "Sk8er Boi" tribute and TikTok debut wasn't coincidental, as Monday was Go Skateboarding Day.
