Billie Eilish releases 'Happier Than Ever': 'I wish I could go back and make this album all over again'

Billie Eilish's Happier Than Ever arrived Friday (July 30), and its 16 tracks will make you want to sequester in a basement somewhere and contemplate life for at least the weekend.

"'Happier Than Ever' my sophomore album is finally out," Eilish captioned her Instagram post of the album's cover. "i can’t even process it. this was the most fulfilling most satisfying and profound experience i’ve ever had with my music. finneas and i were just on cloud 9 making this album i feel.. i love every song on this project so so much it literally scares me thinking about putting it out into the world for anyone to listen to. i feel like crying."

"i grew so much in the process of making this album and experienced so much self realization and self reflection," the 19-year-old generational talent continued. "i wish i could go back and make this album all over again because it was some of the best nights in my life. i love you @finneas thank you for being you. i couldn’t ask for a better brother and collaborator, you are my whole world and i couldn’t do any of this without you. anyway i’m so excited and nervous and blaaah… please take care of this project, it means the world to me. I CANT BELIEVE ITTTT"

Eilish then shared a snippet from the title track's music video, which she dubbed her "favorite song and favorite video ever":

Here is the full video, directed by Eilish:

The back of Eilish's semi-newly blonde head is partially visible to begin the video—a subtle nod to how she unveiled this new era in late April:

Since that announcement, the seven-time Grammy winner has rolled out three singles: "Your Power," "Lost Cause" and "NDA." Eilish also directed all three accompanying music videos.

Eilish's stratospheric rise began by writing songs in her childhood bedroom with her brother, Finneas. At 13 years old, she put out 2015 debut single "Ocean Eyes." Her debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? released in March 2019 and claimed album of the year as well as best pop vocal album at the subsequent Grammy Awards.

Finneas remains her closest collaborator while additionally becoming an in-demand producer and songwriter across the industry.

Eilish's upcoming tour dates are available on her official website.
