Cameron Diaz isn't actively pursing acting, but 'never say never'

Cameron Diaz has found bliss as a mother and wife—calling it "the most fulfilling part of my life so far"—but she didn't close the door completely on her first love when she joined SiriusXM's Bruce Bozzi on Quarantined with Bruce on Thursday to discuss her future plans to return to acting.

"Look, I'm never gonna say never about anything in life. I'm just not that person," the 48-year-old said. "So, will I ever make a movie again? I'm not looking to, but will I? I don't know. I have no idea. Maybe. Never say never. But I couldn't imagine being a mom now where I'm at as a mother with my child in her first year to have to be on a movie set that takes 14 hours, 16 hours of my day away from my child. I just couldn't. I, personally, feel like I wouldn't have been the mom that I am now had I chosen to do that at any other time in my life."

Diaz last appeared in 2014's Annie remake alongside Jamie Foxx and Rose Byrne. She then married Good Charlotte band member Benji Madden in 2015 before giving birth to their daughter, Raddix, whom the couple introduced to the world on Instagram in January 2020.

Of course, Diaz rose to A-list status in Hollywood long before Annie through iconic roles such as My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), There's Something About Mary (1998), Charlie's Angels (2000) and Vanilla Sky (2001). She also voiced Princess Fiona in the Shrek franchise.

Quarantined with Bruce was not the first place Diaz has stopped by to open up about her consuming experiences as a hard-working actress and how that lifestyle compares to how she lives now:

Diaz is still maintaining her work ethic, though. She and Katherine Power launched clean wine company Avaline last summer. In a full-circle moment, according to Travel and Leisure, her Avaline venture gained its name when she came across it while searching for baby names.
