Colton Underwood addresses harassing Cassie Randolph in 'Coming Out Colton' trailer: 'I put a poor girl through hell'

Colton Underwood was met with a bit of resistance when he publicly came out as gay in April by way of a lengthy sit-down interview with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts because of his past behavior toward ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph.

Randolph filed a restraining order against Underwood in September 2020, alleging harassment and stalking that included "planting a tracking device" under the back bumper of her car and sending "unsettling text messages." The order was dropped roughly two months later.

Many people found it disturbing that Underwood was being put on somewhat of a pedestal with his own Netflix unscripted series, to the point where a Change.org petition was created to cancel the show before it began.

Well, Coming Out Colton was not canceled, but the official trailer released Monday (Nov. 29) shows that Randolph's restraining order and Underwood's behavior that led to it will not be overlooked:

Days after Underwood's interview with Roberts, Randolph very briefly commented on it at the beginning of this video on her YouTube channel:

"Before I get into anything, I just want to say thank you so much for all of the kind comments and messages from you guys. I really appreciate it. Regarding the topic in the media that brought my name up this week, I just wanted to let you know that I’m not gonna be further discussing it or commenting on it for now. There’s a lot of layers to it, and I just feel like the best thing for me at this time is to move forward and just focus on going forward. If I do decide in the future to say anything or make a comment at all, you guys will be the first to know."

Randolph and Underwood met during Underwood's season of The Bachelor, which aired at the top of 2019. Randolph exited the show at one point, expressing that she wasn't in a place to accept a proposal, but one dramatic fence jump later, the two ended up together in the finale. They were never engaged and publicly announced their split in May 2020.

Coming Out Colton premieres Friday (Dec. 3).
