Dakota Johnson recalls mom Melanie Griffith embarrassing her in front of childhood crush Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Dakota Johnson has managed to maintain her privacy at the height of fame, despite her mother's best efforts.

Johnson, who most recently stars in "The Lost Daughter," is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, and while the 32-year-old actress doesn't have any social media accounts, Griffith constantly posts pictures on Instagram from throughout Johnson's life.

"I don't like it, but I don't go on social media so I don't find out about it until it's baked into the internet," Johnson said on "The Late Late Show with James Corden." "Somebody will send it to me, like, 'Oh, you were so ugly!' Or, 'You were so cute when you had, like, braces and and a slicked-back ponytail.' I revert back—I become like a 12-year-old, and I'm like, 'Mom! You can't do that! We've this conversation so many times!' She doesn't care."

"The Fifty Shades of Grey" star also recalled Griffith humiliating her in front of Jonathan Taylor Thomas, her (and everyone else's) childhood crush. 

"My mom is the most amazing person, but she embarrasses me in front of a lot of people," Johnson explained. "But yes, Jonathan Taylor Thomas—JTT—total babe. I saw him in the airport ... I think I was eight. Like, 'Oh my God, Mom. It's him. It's really him.' And I was like, 'We're gonna be married. We're gonna be married forever.' I was like, 'We're the same. We love each other.' She was like [waving], 'Jonathan! Jonathan! I'm Melanie Griffith.' I was across the airport, behind a plant ... trying to be invisible."

Johnson did not grow up to marry JTT, but she has been dating Coldplay frontman Chris Martin since 2017.
