Daniel Craig on being 007 in 'Being James Bond' doc: 'My world had turned upside down'

Daniel Craig's five-film run as James Bond will end with No Time to Die, and the 53-year-old actor is reflecting on the role of a lifetime in the Apple TV documentary Being James Bond.

The 30-second trailer dropped Tuesday (Aug. 31):

"I thought I wouldn't know how to handle it," Craig says in the clip. "But I knew we were doing something really special. I literally met my trainer with a rollie and a bacon sandwich and I said, 'I want to change.' I think I was overwhelmed. My world had turned upside down, but I'm incredibly proud and I'm incredibly fortunate to do this."

The retrospective feature will arrive next Tuesday (Sept. 7).

Craig’s 007 send-off almost came in 2015 with Spectre, as he detailed to GamesRadar+/Total Film in July:

“I thought I probably was physically not capable of doing another. For me, it was very cut and dried that I wasn’t coming back.
[…]
“I went and did other things. I got some separation. My family forgave me for being away from home for that length of time. We started talking about it and I went, ‘There might be a story we need to finish here—something we started in Casino [Royale]. Something to do with Vesper, and Spectre, and something that was connected, in a way.’ It started to formulate. And I thought, ‘Here we go.’”

No Time to Die is set for an Oct. 8 release. Watch the final trailer, which was also revealed Tuesday, below.
