Dave Bautista has landed a new movie role.

Matt Grobar of Deadline reports that Dave Bautista is set to star in a live-action Grendel movie. Jeff Bridges, Bryan Cranston, Sam Elliot, and others have also been cast. Bridges will play the title role in the film, which will be produced by The Jim Henson Company.

Grendeal is the story about the monster in the Beowulf poem. The film will be directed by Robert D. Krzykowski. Bautista will play Beowulf. Thomasin McKenzie and Aidan Turner will also be part of the ensemble cast.

The script is an adapted version of John Garnder’s novel, Grendel. Brian Henson and Vince Raisa are attached as producers for The Him Hensen Company. Krzykowski, Jay Glazer, Dennis Berardi, and Jon D. Wagner are also attached as producers.

Production is set to begin in Europe later in 2024.
