Jaime Pressly says everybody cried during Allison Janney's final 'Mom' scene

There will be tears when fans tune into the series finale of CBS sitcom Mom on Thursday night, but there were already tears amongst the cast and crew when the final scene was filmed.

"The very last scene of the show, Allison [Janney] gives an incredibly beautiful monologue—share at AA—and there was not a dry eye in the house," Jaime Pressly, who has played the peppy and wealthy Jill since Season 2, said during the cast's Wednesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Janney, playing Bonnie Plunkett since the 2013 pilot, added: "Believe me, I didn't feel the responsibility at all all week. Like, oh my God. I felt so—I've never been more terrified of having to deliver something. It was mine to mess up, you know what I mean? And I was very nervous about it, but I wanted to give it the weight it deserved."

The finale ("My Kinda People and the Big To-Do") will air at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.

Mom was created Chuck Lorre, Gemma Baker and Eddie Gorodetsky, and it has enjoyed an eight-season run. Janney's Bonnie was the co-central character alongside Anna Faris's Christy Plunkett as an estranged mother and daughter who each struggle as recovering addicts. The beloved supporting cast—Pressly, Beth Hall, Mimi Kennedy and Kristen Johnson—were introduced as members of the same Alcoholics Anonymous group.

Faris was unceremoniously written off the show in the November Season 8 premiere after she had announced her departure from the series in September. Her final appearance was in Season 7's final episode ("Big Sad Eyes and an Antique Hot Dog") last April. She was only mentioned by Bonnie and husband Adam (William Fichtner) while driving home from the airport, where they had dropped off Christy to go on a full scholarship to Georgetown's law school.
