Jay Cutler loses Uber Eats commercial for anti-mask views: 'Frees up my weekend'

Jay Cutler's second act after his 2017 retirement from the NFL is unexpected but also makes complete sense.

"Lost a commercial with Uber Eats partnering with the NFL," the 38-year-old former quarterback tweeted Friday (Aug. 13). "Was going to film in LA, 'views aren't aligned.' Guess they don't like future School board members. Frees up my weekend."

"We are proud of all the work Uber has done over the last year to help get as many people vaccinated as possible," an unnamed Uber Eats spokesperson told Yahoo Entertainment. "As such, we prefer to partner with those who support that work."

But wait, future school board members?

Oh, yes. There's more.

Surrounding the Uber Eats news, Cutler has been simultaneously teasing a potential school board campaign and doubling down on his stance that children shouldn't have to wear masks in school since reactivating his Twitter account Aug. 9:

Cutler shares three children—sons Camden, 9, and Jaxon, 7, as well as daughter, Saylor, 5—with ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari. The Uncommon James owner and reality television star announced the couple's decision to split in April 2020, and their divorce is still being finalized:

Cutler starred at Vanderbilt before the Denver Broncos selected him 11th overall in the 2006 NFL draft, and he played in Denver through the 2008 season. The Broncos traded Cutler to the Chicago Bears, where his career was defined from 2009-16. He announced his retirement and was set to join Fox as a broadcaster before signing a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins ahead of the 2017 campaign.

After 14 unceremonious games with the Fins, Cutler again leaned toward retirement, and he subsequently starred alongside Cavallari on Very Cavallari. The E! reality series was ended after three seasons by Cavallari following the ex-couple's divorce filing.

Cutler's future endeavors aren't limited to the school board, however—it should be noted that he is the King of Sarcasm, and this could all just be a joke—as he also has a meat box subscription company called Cuts.
