Jesse Tyler Ferguson admits 'Modern Family' spinoff is being talked about

Modern Family ended its 11-season run last April, and fans haven't wasted any time clamoring for more.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played the beloved Mitchell Pritchett since the pilot, chimed in on the possibility of a spinoff series starring him while visiting with E!'s Daily Pop recently:

"Nothing is official," Ferguson said when asked about the rumors he is going to star alongside Eric Stonestreet, who played his TV husband Cam since the series pilot. "I have not been asked to do anything yet. You know, it's being talked about, but I haven't heard anything official—unless you want to write and produce it."

Cam and Mitch adopted Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) in the pilot. By the series finale, Cam was offered his dream job to become football coach near home at the University of North Central Missouri. Mitch agreed for the family move together with teenaged Lily and newly adopted son, Rexford.

Ferguson adopted his first child with his husband, Justin Mikita, last July—a son named Beckett. Most recently, on March 9, the five-time Emmy nominee released cookbook Food Between Friends with Julie Tanous.
