Katy Perry will reportedly headline new Las Vegas residency

Oh, there will be fireworks.

According to Billboard, Katy Perry will begin a Las Vegas residency at The Theatre at brand-new Resorts World later this year and perform there through 2022.

More context from the report: "Resorts World is Las Vegas' first new-from-the-ground-up casino-resort on the Strip in more than a decade. The 5,000-capacity Theater will run as a joint development in partnership with AEG Presents, exclusively programmed and operated by its Concerts West division."

Perry released Smile, her sixth overall studio album, last August and—for obvious COVID-19 pandemic reasons—has not been able to tour her new batch of music. The 36-year-old also welcomed her first child, a daughter named Daisy, with her fiance Orlando Boom in late August:

Perry has been back at work, though, as American Idol's nineteenth season premiered in late February. The 13-time Grammy nominee has served as a judge alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan since the series was revived in 2018.
