Curse you middle age! Comedian Kevin Hart recently found out what happens when you challenge a younger, but former, NFL running back to a 40-yard dash.

Hart now is in a wheelchair as he recuperates from injuries suffered during the sprint as he raced ex Patriots running back Stevan Ridley. The ex Steeler and former LSU star has been out of the league for five years.

Obviously, the 34-year-old Ridley can still run. But Hart, a decade his senior, tore so many muscles trying to keep up that he can’t walk. Hart turned the painful moment into a comedy rif about middle age. Of course he shared it to social media because why let pain get in the way of getting some good laughs, even at his own expense.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the age of 40 is real.,” Kevin Hart says. “To all my men and women out there. 40 years old and above. It’s not a game, respect that age. Respect that age! Or that age will will make you respect it. I was just forced to respect it.

“This is just a public service announcement because I know people may see me out. And I don’t want you to be alarmed, but I’m in a wheelchair. I’m in a wheelchair. Why? Well, because I tried to jump out there and do some young stuff. Trying to go out there and do some young, some young man stuff and I was told to sit my a-- down.”

Kevin Hart tore muscle in lower abdomen while running

Kevin Hart didn’t stop there. He explained how he and Ridley “got into a little debate.”

And “this debate was based on who is faster. Those that know me, know I’m pretty fast. Stephen said ‘Kevin, no way you’re gonna beat me. Stephen his ex. NFL running back for the Patriots. Very good guy.”

Then he offers more details of the actual race. “We get out there, we go run the 40-yard dash. The 40-yard dash! Guys,I blew all my s---. Tore my lower abdomen. My abductors are torn. I don’t even know what that is. … But I can’t walk. Sit my a-- down. This is 44. Tell you what you just lost, son. You just lost every opportunity of me going to racing you anytime soon.

“Why are we competing at this age? Why are we like this, what what am I doing, why’d I even race? Stupidest s--- ever. Now I can’t even walk. Why? Because I’m trying to get the title of the fastest (n-word) at the barbecue? What was I thinking? I’ve got to be the stupidest man alive.”

Dwayne ‘the Rock” Johnson tried to cheer up Kevin Hart in the comments. We’re not sure it’ll work. “I tore my adductor off my pelvis during a wrestling match. True story. You’ll be fine. You’ll grow a 3rd ball but you’ll be fine. Heal up.”

We’re sure Kevin Hart will be saying “curse you Stevan Ridley” for many more days.
