The Rock has been on the phone with Larry David over the future of the UFL.

The United Football League was created when the XFL and the USFL merged in 2023. The Rock is one of the main shareholders in the league, and is the face of the brand so far.

One fan who has some suggestions on to make the league great is comedy legend Larry David.

Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Larry David revealed he rang The Rock about his idea, which he thought was a pretty, pretty, pretty good one.

David pitched it to the UFL boss, not realising that his idea for bonus points was already implemented into the XFL previously.

“I heard about this UFL and I thought ‘let me talk to somebody in the UFL’. So, my agent got me on the phone with Dwayne Johnson [The Rock]. I went straight up the flag pole. He called me and we had a conversation. He didn’t know what I was asking, but he was nice enough to call back.

“So, we had this conversation, and I pitched him my no goalpost idea. I thought it was gonna happen! He was completely into it! Remove the goalposts, that was the idea. I said what I said to you on the show. ‘There’s no reason for them’.

“I told him all that, and then I pitched him my extra point. I didn’t know that the extra point was already in the XFL! That there were no extra points from kicks.”

The Rock Responded To Larry David On Twitter

The Rock reacted to the clip of Larry David on Twitter. He called their conversation “spirited”, and laughed at his suggestions about changing the league’s rules. He said on Twitter:

“LOVE my guy Larry David. He hates goalposts and field goal kicks – we had a spirited and very productive conversation. At the end of the day, like me and all of us fans – he loves the game of football. We at the XFL had already implemented new innovative rules last season that we carry over to our new @XFL2023 league that starts this month. I’m considering creating THE LARRY BOWL in his honor #UFL @RichEisenShow
