Lin Manuel-Miranda's 'In the Heights' release date moved-up to June 11th
Don't ever doubt the power of a great trailer.
Warner Bros. Pictures shared the trailer for In The Heights on March 14. With over 5.5 million YouTube views and counting, the fans won't have to wait quite as long to watch the full film, as its release date has officially been bumped from June 18 to June 11.
Director Jon M. Chu confirmed the news Thursday:
The feature adaptation of the Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegria Hudes' Broadway musical stars Anthony Ramos (A Star is Born, Broadway's Hamilton, Netflix's She's Gotta Have It) as a bodega owner named Usnavi de la Vega in the Latinx community of New York City's Washington Heights. Manuel-Miranda, Corey Hawkins (BlacKkKlansman), Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue) and Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black) also star.
Chu is an acclaimed director with several previous notable works such as Step Up 2 (2008), Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (2011) and Crazy Rich Asians (2018).
