Michael B. Jordan discusses why playing John Clark role is so fulfilling
When Tom Clancy's Without Remorse hits Amazon Prime Video on April 30, Michael B. Jordan will officially become the first Black actor to portray John Clark on screen—however, the 34-year-old accomplished this in his mind a long time ago.
"As a kid, I'd play John Clark in the video games Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon and imagine myself in that role," Jordan told People exclusively. "So for everything to come full circle and to be able to play him in real life, it's really fulfilling."
Without Remorse is John Clark's origin story, back when he was still John Kelly, and follows the Navy SEAL through extreme obstacles to avenge the murder of his wife, Pam (Lauren London), at the hands of masked Russian assassins. The tragedy is framed as retribution after Kelly rescued a CIA operative from Russia in Syria three months prior.
The action thriller, an extension of the Jack Ryan franchise and adaptation of Clancy's Rainbow Six novel, dropped its first trailer March 3:

Earlier this week, Jordan shared a behind-the-scenes clip from one of the film's many intense stunts and revealed in the caption, "On this film I wanted to challenge myself do my own stunts":
"It was definitely very, very intense," Jordan added to People. "The stunts were high-intensity moments, though they were also fun. I trained for each one specifically. Weapons training, military diving, tactical training, close-quarter combat training. But I think, after developing and living with this character for a couple of years, you start to become them after a while, and it becomes a little bit easier to go to those places because you care so much about them."
