Miley Cyrus reaches out to DaBaby: 'It's easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness'

DaBaby doesn't have many allies right now, but Miley Cyrus is willing to be one.

The 28-year-old posted an open letter to the embattled rapper on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 4):

DaBaby (born Jonathan Kirk) brought himself under fire when he made crude and insensitive comments about AIDS, HIV and the LGBTQ+ community during his controversial set at RollingLoud on July 25.

"If you didn't show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that'll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up," he said into his microphone. "Ladies, if your p---- smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d--- in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up."

To make matters even worse, the 29-year-old six-time Grammy nominee doubled down on his comments during an Instagram Live the next day and made even more disturbing and derogatory remarks (h/t Billboard).

DaBaby kept the profanity-laced commentary about LGBTQ+ people, Black representation and coming July 27.

And he eventually issued a formal apology earlier this week:

DaBaby didn't show any remorse until after several music festivals as well and boohooMAN and Audacity dropped him.
