Mindy Kaling's 'Never Have I Ever' renewed by Netflix
Who run the world? Mindy Kaling.
Kaling, 42, co-created Never Have I Ever based loosely on her upbringing as a first-generation Indian-American, and it has resonated with audiences so well through two seasons that Netflix renewed the coming-of-age comedy:
Never Have I Ever debuted in April 2020 and returned for its sophomore season last month. The series—narrated by tennis great John McEnroe—follows high schooler Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) as she navigates the sudden death of her father, Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy), and the strained relationship she has with her mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), all while confronting a love triangle between Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison) and Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet).
Richa Moorjani, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young and Christina Kartchner also star.
Ramakrishnan, Jagannathan, Lewison and Young celebrated the news on Twitter:
On top of co-writing Season 3, Kaling also has the debut of her HBO Max series The Sex Lives of College Girls and the highly anticipated premiere of Legally Blonde 3, for which she is writing the screenplay, to look forward to.
