NEON has dropped the official poster for their upcoming film Babes from writer Ilana Glazer and director Pamela Adlon.

Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau in first poster for Babes from NEONNEON

Babes follows two inseparable childhood best friends who have grown up together in NYC and are now at two different phases of adulthood.

Ilana Glazer plays Eden, a carefree and single woman who decides to have a baby on her own following a one-night stand.

When she asks her married best friend and mum of two, Dawn, played by Michelle Buteau, to guide her through it, their friendship faces its greatest challenge.

Joining Glazer and Buteau in the cast are John Carroll Lynch, Oliver Platt and Sandra Bernhard, with Stephan James and Hasan Minhaj.

Glazer co-wrote the script with Josh Rabinowitz, whose previous credits include Rel, Broad City and The Carmichael Show.

Babes will be the debut feature of director Pamela Adlon, who has over 200 credits as an actor and a Primetime Emmy win for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance in King of the Hill.

It debuted at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival and was a hit among critics who are calling it "The Bridesmaids of Babymaking" and "The Comedy of the Year".

Audiences will be able to see what the hype is about soon when Babes hits theaters on May 17.
