The Women’s World Championship is over and the PWHL is back in action this week! 5 out of the 7 Boston players who left to represent their country will return to Boston with a medal. Here is a recap of how each player did during this tournament.
Jamie Lee Rattray-Team Canada
Canadian forward and Boston alternate captain Jamie Lee Rattray will return to Boston with a gold medal. Rattray did not have a great amount of ice time through 7 games, she averaged 5:30 (38:36 total) but in that time she recorded 2 assists, and recorded a +4 rating.
Alina Müller-Team Switzerland
Swiss forward Alina Müller led her team in points. She did not make it to the bronze medal game. She recorded 4 points but a -3 rating. She leads Boston in points and is a key piece to the team’s success so far. She recorded a game-winning goal against Germany on Saturday.
Susanna Tapani-Team Finland
Finnish forward Susanna Tapani will return to Boston with a bronze medal. Tapani led the team in points (2 goals and 4 assists) and held a +4 rating throughout the tournament. She recorded an assist in the bronze medal game.
Emma Söderberg-Team Sweden
Swedish goaltender Emma Söderberg did not make it to the bronze medal game, but she was a great player for Sweden during this tournament. She played in 4 out of the 5 games and had a 90.53 save % and a 2.27 goals against average and won 2 of the 4 games she played.
Hilary Knight-Team USA
American forward and captain Hilary Knight led Team USA to the gold medal game and will return to Boston with a silver medal. Knight seemed to get her spark back and tied Alex Carpenter with the most points during the tournament with 10. She recorded a goal in the gold medal game. She earned herself a +9 rating during the tournament. She has been cold during the PWHL season with just 7 points in 19 games but she showed up during the tournament. Boston hopes this carries into the final month of the season so they can make their push for the playoffs.
Megan Keller-Team USA
American defender and alternate captain Megan Keller will come back to Boston with a silver medal. Megan Keller had one of the most time on ice among the team. She recorded 3 points during the tournament, including a goal in the gold medal game. She earned herself a +7 rating.
Aerin Frankel-Team USA
American goaltender Aerin Frankel was a heavy contributor to Team USA’s success and will return to Boston with a Silver Medal. Frankel played in 6 out of 7 games for the USA and recorded 4 shutouts and 5 wins. She had a 91.67 save % and a 1.46 goals-against average.
