Deadline has revealed that Rebecca Ferguson will join Chris Pratt in the new film Mercy from Ben-Hur director Timur Bekmambetov.

From Amazon MGM Studios, the film is set to release in theaters worldwide and is being described as a sci-fi thriller about a detective accused of a crime and forced to prove his innocence.

This will be the sophomore feature script of screenwriter Marco van Belle and has the two-time Oscar-nominated producer Charles Roven (American Hustle, Oppenheimer) on board.

Ferguson joins the cast following her success in Dune: Part Two, where she plays Lady Jessica opposite Timothée Chalemet's Paul Atreides. The film opened to $182.5 million at the global box office, with $82.5 million coming domestically.

Further cast and crew updates for Mercy remain under wraps.

Production is predicted to commence in spring.
