With The Batman: Part II delayed until 2026, Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Bride steps into its slot in the release calendar.

Warner Bros updated their slate for the next few years, and The Bride has been bumped up to cover the Batman-sized hole on October 3, 2025.

Gyllenhaal's film takes place in 1930s Chicago, where Frankenstein asks Dr. Euphronius to help create a companion. They give life to a murdered woman as the Bride, sparking romance, police interest, and radical social change.

The cast includes Annette Bening, Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Penélope Cruz and Peter Sarsgaard in this reimagining of Bride of Frankenstein.

Courtney Kivowitz and Carla Raij executive produce, with Osnat Handelsman-Keren, Talia Kleinhendler and Emma Tillinger Koskoff producing alongside Gyllenhaal.

Production is said to have commenced this month in New York City as per Production List.

Bale will star as Frankenstein with Cruz as "The Bride" Myrna, and Sarsgaard is said to be a detective.

Bening and Buckley's characters are currently unknown.
