Rolling Stones planning to play 2021 No Filter Tour without Charlie Watts
The Rolling Stones will still be in St. Louis on Sept. 26 to launch their U.S. No Filter Tour, despite the death of drummer Charlie Watts on Tuesday (Aug. 24) at 80 years old.
"The Rolling Stones’ tour dates are moving ahead as planned," promoter AEG Presents' Concerts West confirmed in a statement, according to Rolling Stone.
Watts previously announced that the tour would go on without him in a statement released earlier this month:
Watts had joined the Stones in 1963 and was one of three band members to stay with the band for the entirety of its discography, alongside Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
The No Filter Tour was originally scheduled to begin May 8, 2020, and wrap July 9, 2020, but the dates were postponed after the coronavirus pandemic hit. View the rescheduled dates here.
