Ryan Reynolds plans to get drunk and watch 'Green Lantern' for the first time

Ryan Reynolds just mastered the shameless plug this St. Patrick's Day.

The 44-year-old actor tweeted Wednesday that he will lean on Aviation American Gin, which he co-owns, to watch Green Lantern for the first time:

Green Lantern is a negligible chapter in Reynold's decades-long career. The 2011 DC film scored a measly 26 percent Tomatometer score and 45 percent audience score on Rotten TomatoesFor the most part, it was only popular as a punchline. Reynolds played the titular superhero and has spoken freely about being able to make fun of it without any hard feelings.

It helps that Reynolds met his now-wife Blake Lively while filming Green Lantern, and it also helps that the Vancouver native has totally redeemed himself in the superhero space with his Deadpool franchise.

Reynolds shut down rumors that he reprised his role as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern for Zack Snyder's Justice League in late February, but the good news is that it had already been confirmed in January that Deadpool 3 is happening and will officially be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
