Christian Horner ‘s investigation saga had caused a stir amongst the top spots in Red Bull. Multiple crucial people like Adrian Newey , Helmut Marko , and even Max Verstappen were rumored to exit the team. Despite the entire investigation being at ease, the aero-genius is still rumored to potentially make an exit. Newey’s dismissal may produce major issues in the Austrian constructor’s performance in the coming seasons.

Adrian Newey‘s rumors of exiting the team started amidst the power struggle between Helmut Marko and Christian Horner and the investigation saga. However, Newey had previously reaffirmed his loyalty to Red Bull. Regardless, multiple constructors have showcased their interest in acquiring the highly capable engineer.

Newey’s current contract with Red Bull runs until the end of the 2025 season. However, according to reports, the Englishman is considering leaving the team and looking at his options. The 65-year-old is all set to announce his departure from Red Bull soon during the ongoing canpaign. Additionally, he doesn’t want to be pushed completely towards working on the RB17 Hypercar project. Anyhow, no major information has been provided by Newey or Red Bull yet.

Aston Martin had showcased a great interest in acquiring the 65-year-old. Mercedes also ushered interest in Newey due to the rising tensions at Milton Keynes. Apart from this, Newey’s sightings near the Bologna airport were rumored to be linked to his meetup with Fred Vasseur. Ferrari was previously rumored to provide the aero-genius with a ‘blank cheque’ to join Maranello.

Adrian Newey claims he will continue working until Red Bull ‘wants’ him

Adrian Newey has been working with Red Bull since 2006. The aero-genius led the team to multiple dominant victories during the ground-effect era. Hence, the Englishman had previously mentioned that he had no plans to leave the sport anytime soon. Newey recalled that he wanted to be a designer since he was ten years old.

I enjoy [it]. Ever since I was 10 or so, certainly by 12, I wanted to be a designer – I don’t think I knew the word ‘engineer’ – in motor racing, and ideally, Formula 1. That’s what I [put] all my teenage years towards. Adrian Newey said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

Newey has enjoyed his stint so far working in F1, creating such capable machinery. Hence, he claimed that he would continue working as long he enjoyed it. Additionally, as long as the team wants the aero-genius, he will continue working at the pinnacle of motorsport. However, Newey revealed that he didn’t plan too far ahead regarding his stay in the sport.

I’ve hugely enjoyed it, and I continue to enjoy So I think as long as I continue to enjoy it and the team wants me then I’ll continue to do it for the moment and then we’ll have to see in the future. I don’t tend to plan too far forward. Adrian Newey noted.

Red Bull would ideally want Adrian Newey to continue working beyond the regulation changes to maximize potential. However, amidst growing tensions, the 65-year-old would naturally look over his options. As things currently are, Newey has multiple options for the coming season and would take a lot of knowledge to the rival teams. The Newey situation could develop rapidly in the coming hours.
