Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has secured P2 in the main Miami GP qualifying session. A phenomenal day for the Monegasque driver as early on, he secured second place in the 19-lap Sprint race as well.
Charles Leclerc believes that the SF-24 was on the limit during the intense qualifying session. This year, Ferrari has closed down a lot of the gap to Red Bull as they have managed to fix the issues they faced with their 2023 challenger. The Maranello-based team has been performing consistently since the start of the ongoing campaign and that has resulted in their brilliant performance on the track.
While talking about his experience in the SF-24, Leclerc told the following to the media.
It felt so much on the limit, it was very close until Q3. When we started to push for the last one or two-tenths, we started to lose it. However, the race is long and I hope tomorrow we can put Max under a bit more pressure. Charles Leclerc told: Racingnews365

Charles Leclerc believes that ‘DRS’ is vital for overtaking Max Verstappen
Today, during the qualifying session, Charles Leclerc just missed out on pole by the finest of margins. He was on it from the get-go but looking ahead, he feels that DRS will play a crucial role in determining whether he would be able to overtake Verstappen during the Miami race.
While talking about the same in detail, he had the following to add.
Yeah this and keeping the DRS, if we don't get past by turn one. DRS is super powerful here and if we lose it after the first lap then it's always difficult to come back within DRS, we must not lose it. After having a good day with astonishing results, the Monegasque driver is optimistically looking forward to tomorrow’s 57-lap race. The event is vital for Leclerc, as despite being ahead in points in comparison to Sainz, the latter has been the one who has put on board a victory for Ferrari this year. Keeping this in view, Leclerc’s faithful will have their eyes glued on their TV screens for pretty much the whole duration of the race.
