Lewis Hamilton ahead of the ongoing campaign, dropped a major bomb with his 2025 Ferrari announcement. A lot has been made of his sensational move and the former four-time world champion, Alain Prost, has also shared a fascinating viewpoint on it.

The Frenchman feels when Lewis Hamilton joins Ferrari next year, it will be a major scenery change for him. Moreover, the Brit might experience a bit of pressure while trying to settle in on the Maranello-based outfit.

At Ferrari, things will be very different in comparison to how things have been for him at Mercedes.

The relation with Charles, you know, the ambience at Ferrari is also [important]. "[He has had] such a long period with an English team, Mercedes, with a way of working and then you go to an Italian team, especially with the different pressure, different way of thinking, he is under pressure from the media. I think it's not that easy. Alain Prost said in an interview with Sports Illustrated

The Maranello-based team is one of the most successful outfits in the history of F1. The outfit has been competing in the sport since the 1950s and today is considered, one of the biggest names in the world of motorsports. When Hamilton joins the outfit next year, he will most definitely feel a stark difference in the way of doing things.

Alain Prost ‘understands’ Lewis Hamilton’s thinking behind leaving Mercedes

While Alain Prost believes Hamilton would find it a bit tough settling in at Ferrari, he understands as to why the latter decided to leave Mercedes. It has been over two years since the 39-year-old has been able to challenge for the coveted F1 world championship.

In 2021, he lost out on the title under shady circumstances against Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

I can understand his decision because obviously when you are in a team like Mercedes, when they did not win a race for two years and they are really struggling to go back to the front. Alain Prost said in the same interview

Lewis Hamilton has had an illustrious racing career. He is currently the joint world championship record holder alongside Michael Schumacher and one of the main factors behind the Brit’s Ferrari move is to win a record-breaking eighth world championship.
