Ferrari signed Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 season and beyond in a shocking driver transfer that was labeled the biggest in the history of F1. However, with Hamilton aging, speculations and doubts were raised about his ability to progress with the team when he joins the prancing horse next year. Following this, Ferrari’s CEO Benedetto Vigna claimed racing is in the DNA of the Brit and dismissed such speculations.

Both Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari have been struggling for the past few years on the F1 grid. This raised questions regarding the Maranello-based team’s ability to cope with the pressure of winning the world championship soon. Similarly, Hamilton lost the 2021 title to Max Verstappen in the final race and has since then been in the process of collecting himself and bidding for the title again in the future.

Witnessing this determination, Benedetto Vigna referred Hamilton’s motto to that of Enzo Ferrari‘s.

Lewis[Hamilton] will bring to us what is written in his DNA, what our founder has said several times (Enzo Ferrari used to underline that 'the most important success it's what I still have to achieve', ed. ) a desire for continuous progress which is fundamental for a company, a team, a team to continue to be successful in the future. Benedetto Vigna said in an interview with CNBC

Vigna claimed that the Brit focuses on continuous progress, which is fundamental for any team to prosper. Furthermore, having a racing soul like the former seven-time champion would help the team to get motivated and work harder for the end goal of winning. With such words behind the Englishman, it is anticipated that he would receive a warm welcome in Maranello soon and start his challenge for the eighth title that Hamilton has eluded for long.

Charles Leclerc is unsatisfied with Ferrari as he awaits major upgrades

The Scuderia began the season with high hopes of challenging Red Bull at multiple circuits. However, to their dismay, the Chinese GP weekend seemed to be the weakness for the prancing horses as their streak of finishing on the podium got snapped at the Shanghai International Circuit. Moreover, the drivers seemed unhappy with the car’s balance and expect it to get better in the upcoming rounds.

After the race, Charles Leclerc felt dejected and laid out two things on which Ferrari would have to work on.

We're not completely satisfied with our result as a team today. We have two things to focus on leaving Shanghai, one is our qualifying trim and the other our pace on the Hards, which was our main challenge today. What will be essential is the upcoming upgrades, as they will define the direction we will take for the next part of the season. Charles Leclerc said in a press release by the team

The Monegasque claimed to be unsatisfied with the team’s performance at the Chinese GP. Subsequently, he mentioned the lack of qualifying pace in the SF-24 and its ability to fire up the hard compounds. This had seemed a weakness of the car in China and Leclerc has urged the engineers to solve this soon.

The 26-year-old further mentioned the upgrades and explained how they are crucial to Ferrari’s path forward. The Maranello-based team is expected to bring a major upgrade package to Imola and Leclerc expects it to prove extremely potent..
