Daniel Ricciardo has failed to live up to expectations since his return to F1 last season. The Australian driver has had a disappointing start to the 2024 season with no points to name after first four rounds. Now, former Le Mans winner Richard Bradley has given his verdict over Ricciardo’s future with RB.
The Australian driver’s current contract will expire at the end of this year. Daniel Ricciardo aimed to convince Red Bull to give him an extension at its sister team or a potential promotion to Milton Keynes. However, Bradley insisted that Ricciardo would definitely be axed by the Faenza-based team potentially in two races time after the Miami GP. Liam Lawson would be the ideal candidate to replace the 34-year-old.

The Briton claimed that Daniel Ricciardo will not be racing in F1 once the sport reaches its European leg in the second half of May. Although, it is believed that Ricciardo’s presence at RB plays a pivotal role in the team’s $35 million title partnership with Visa and CashApp. As the Australian driver continues to have a massive fanbase despite his decline in results.

Daniel Ricciardo had an early end to the Japanese GP. The 34-year-old collided with the barriers after making contact Alex Albon on the first lap. This further impacted Ricciardo’s future prospects as his teammate Yuki Tsunoda scored one point for RB. Tsunoda became the first Japanese driver to claim points in Suzuka in over a decade.
Richard Bradley claimed that Daniel Ricciardo seemed to have lost concentration during the Japanese GP. The Australian driver should’ve been more cautious regarding the blind spot at the start. Bradley insisted that Ricciardo’s mistake was something that a driver in Formula 4 would do rather than an 8-time F1 race winner.
That accident – the one that happened with Albon – is from a complete drop in concentration. At that pointas a driver you know that you will have a car in your blind spot. In a Formula 1 the blind spot is huge, bumping into Albon like he did it was an amateur mistake expected from a Formula 4 driver.

Daniel Ricciardo needs to pick up the pace in the coming races. The Australian driver will inevitably lose his seat for next season if his results don’t improve. However, Red Bull has supported the 34-year-old so far. Fans would be looking forward to seeing Ricciardo push himself to the limit over the course of this season.
