The 2024 F1 season will commence shortly with the season-opener this weekend. Hence, the teams prepare meticulously to perform well down the season and have a shot at the championship. Additionally, the drivers’ market would entirely open up by 2025 and multiple drivers have an expiring contract. Notably, Sergio Perez‘s performance would predict his future within the team as the Mexican’s contract ends by 2024. Carlos Sainz is another driver currently seatless beyond 2024.

Multiple drivers are more than willing to acquire the potential empty seat at Red Bull. Alex Albon was previously considered a potential option for the team . However, Carlos Sainz also finds himself seatless in F1 for 2025 due to Lewis Hamilton‘s bombshell move to Ferrari. As a result, Sainz was also considered for potentially joining Milton Keynes if the 33-year-old were to be ousted from the team.

However, Helmut Marko assured that the Spaniard likely wouldn’t join the team in case of Perez’s departure. Additionally, the 33-year-old’s performance in the team for the entire season would open up discussions about his future within the team. Hence, Carlos Sainz would likely finalize a team well before this according to Marko. Subsequently, Sainz would likely not join Red Bull next year.

Sainz probably wants to make a decision sooner than we do. Marko told Klienezeitung.

Carlos Sainz unsure about Ferrari’s chances against Red Bull in 2024

Red Bull has once again created a highly dominant chassis for the 2024 campaign of Formula 1. However, even Ferrari was hopeful of great results in the 2024 season following great performance from the SF24. Regardless, Sainz asserted his feelings towards Ferrari’s chances of winning against Milton Keynes down the season.

The Spaniard mentioned that the SF24 produced a much better feeling as compared to the SF23 challenger of 2023. However, the 29-year-old acknowledged the fact that the newfound pace was still not enough to compete let alone win against the dominant Red Bulls. The team’s lap times on the C3 compound proved just how well Red Bull would perform down the season.

Regardless of the competition, Carlos Sainz would have to perform well in the sport. The Spaniard needs to prove his mettle to ensure his seat in Formula 1 is secured. The driver is currently seatless and has to soon lock in with a team beyond 2025. Sainz recently mentioned a timeline to confirm his team within the sport after being ousted from Maranello.
