The Red Bull Racing consultant Helmut Marko expressed his lack of confidence in the performance of the 34-year-old Australian Daniel Ricciardo after Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grand Prix’s. He has emphasized the need for improvement in the near future against his VisaCashApp RB teammate Yuki Tsunoda, to secure his future in the team.

In the Bahrain opening weekend, Yuki Tsunoda showcased his speed by being a tenth quicker in qualifying. But sticking to controversial team orders resulted in him finishing behind Daniel Ricciardo. In the following week, Tsunoda once again outpaced his teammate on Friday.. He secured the ninth position in qualifying, while Ricciardo had to settle for 14th place. The upper hand he young Japanese driver now has against the veteran Ricciardo isn’t appreciated much by Helmut Marko.

Yuki’s performance in Qualifying was very good and Ricciardo will have to come up with something as soon as possible. It’s clear what aspect needs to be worked on: in the first stint in both Bahrain and Jeddah Tsunoda was in the points, but then he lost ground. We need to find out if the car has excessive tire degradation or if there are other reasons behind this trend.

Helmut Marko said via Formula1Passion.

Yuki Tsunoda’s performance in qualifying at the last Grand Prix impressed Marko. He mentioned that Ricciardo must step up his game. Nevertheless, Ricciardo has to improve in various areas, as Bahrain and Jeddah served as a learning experience for him. Marko emphasized the importance of determining whether the team’s struggles are due to tire degradation or other factors.

Daniel Ricciardo expresses his frustration as he spins out during the Saudi GP

Daniel Ricciardo has disclosed that his late-race spin at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was a result of his mounting frustration. The Red Bull driver experienced a disheartening race at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. A long pit stop during the safety car period caused by Lance Stroll’s crash made it worse. Haas F1 teams blocking strategy also hurt him as well.

I'm not intending on taking that much kerb, you could say just probably a little bit of frustration, maybe on my part. I'm not trying to spin excuses... but my drink didn't work, I'll use that as an excuse. Daniel Ricciardo told RacingNews365

Ricciardo remarked that he was not intending to make much Kreb, but due to a little bit of frustration in him caused the car to spin. The Australian then added that he will not use this as excuse, as the incident happened due to him.

Despite, remaining optimistic Ricciardo was not happy with the results as everyone in Formula 1 is expecting more for him as Ricciardo wants promotion to Red Bull, the parent of RB Visa Cash App. He now must consistently need to secure good track position and bring more points to the team to achieve those dreams.
