At the end of 2024, Lewis Hamilton will mark his departure from Mercedes as he is set to join Ferrari for the 2025 season and beyond. The seven-time F1 world champion used an exit clause in his contract to make sure the unexpected move, which has been a childhood dream of his to occur.

Lewis Hamilton is looking to win his eighth world championship with Ferrari and close the chapters of his F1 legacy. Many F1 personalities had previously pointed out that, walking into the Italian team would not be a piece of cake for the Englishman after spending his whole career in UK. This week the two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen spoke on the matter and warned Hamilton about the challenges ahead.

Moving now to an Italian team, where he has no experience, can be a big change for him, to understand the philosophy and the way they work. That's not to say they don't work well or do the right things, but it's a big change. Mika Hakkinen said via formulapassion.it.

Lewis Hamilton’s future teammate Charles Leclerc has been with the team for many years now. He goes through every process with the team, he speaks Italian as well. He has put in a lot of effort to bond well with the team. Hamilton who will be new to the team will have to make extra efforts and perhaps a bit out of his way, to make himself at home there.

Lewis Hamilton urges Mercedes to significant changes to his final German made race car

Despite his move to Ferrari next season, Lewis Hamilton has claimed his 100% focus is on being a Mercedes driver right now. He wishes to bring the team back on top where it belongs. It looks like he has another disappointing start to the season. Hamilton has been seen struggling with the car during the last two Grand Prix’s.

The car is relatively good in the low speed and not so bad in the medium (speed), but in the high speed, we are miles off. It was like I was in a different category when I was going through the high speed between the other guys around me. It's frustrating for sure to be in three years in a row in almost the same position. Lewis Hamilton said via racingnews365.com.

During Saudi Arabian GP qualifying, he struggled a lot to push through the first sector due to bouncing. He had the same issue during the Bahrain GP too. Hamilton believes that perhaps they have not made significant changes yet, and now is the time for the team, to work on their performance.
