The F1 design legend, Adrian Newey has officially moved away from Red Bull’s F1 project. He will become completely free of his duties with the team by the early months of next year and amidst this, Sergio Perez has admitted that the Milton-Keynes-based team’s success is not only down to Newey.

Sergio Perez has been making his trade with Red Bull since 2021 and has thus seen how the whole organization operates. On the back of what he has experienced, he genuinely feels that the team’s success has been down to a united effort from everyone.

It is worth noting that Newey has been with Red Bull since 2006!

I think you have seen in the past with these big teams, big names, when they leave, they will always succeed. You know, it doesn't matter. It's not down to one single individual. It's a whole organisation, and I think Christian has done a great job in sort of preparing for the next generation of what's gonna happen to Red Bull. sergio Perez said in an interview with racingnews365

The Milton-Keynes-based outfit has found it extremely hard to stay out of the headlines this year. The team has been in the spotlight for one reason or the other but the recent Newey exit was not expected by many in the F1 paddock. Especially keeping in view how much success Red Bull and the 65-year-old have enjoyed together.

Sergio Perez feels Adrian Newey’s decision to leave Red Bull is completely ‘fair’

While Sergio Perez has deemed Red Bull’s success a team effort, he also believes that Adrian Newey‘s decision to leave the reigning champions is completely fair. Perez only wishes the best for the Brit going forward.

After the recent announcement, Newey has switched his focus toward Red Bull’s Hypercar project.

Someone like Adrian [Newey] has been tremendous to our team, to our organisation. And he's a very good friend of mine as well, in this time that we spent together. But at the end of the day, there are times in life - I think he's spent like 20 years at Red Bull. I think he probably wants to do something else, and it's fair. Sergio Perez said in the same interview

Everyone at Red Bull has tremendous respect for what Adrian Newey has done for the team over the last two decades. No other car designer in F1 has the kind of know-how and might that Newey possesses. Since his exit news, teams like Ferrari have been hot on Newey’s heels in order to secure his signature for the upcoming years.
