The ongoing 2024 campaign will mark Lewis Hamilton ’s last season with Mercedes. At the start of February, the news of Hamilton’s move to Ferrari came out and shocked the whole paddock.

Toto Wolff, at first, was taken aback as he considered Hamilton a forever Mercedes driver, but, the Brit’s decision did not come as a huge surprise to the Austrian. Wolff and Hamilton have contributed massively to Mercedes’s success since 2013.

While talking to the media recently, Wolff admitted that it is still hard to believe that Hamilton will be repping the red of Ferrari in 2025.

I think first I can’t imagine him in the red, I don’t think it suits him. But I think that picture is gonna be interesting. Toto Wolff said: Silverarrows.net

Lewis Hamilton has spent most of his career at Mercedes, through all the highs and lows, to claiming six world championships with the team, he’s had a dream run. Despite being a bit dejected about leaving Mercedes, Hamilton looks forward to his new beginning with Ferrari. He previously deemed driving for Ferrari a childhood dream.

Mercedes team principal to miss the Japanese GP

While Toto Wolff has candidly made it known that red does not suit Ferrari, the Mercedes team principal is reportedly set to miss the Japanese GP as per PA media. It is understood that the Austrian’s decision to miss the Japanese weekend was taken before the start of the ongoing campaign.

After the Australian GP, several questions were raised regarding Wolff’s position on the Mercedes F1 team. He was questioned regarding the same, and at that time he admitted that it is “fair” for people to raise questions.

Toto Wolff understands the responsibility that he has as Mercedes’s boss. He has led the team successfully since 2013 but under the current regulations, has hit a bit of a roadblock. It will be fascinating to see how Mercedes will deal with things during the Japanese weekend in Wolff’s absence.
