It is quite well known in the paddock that Max Verstappen hates the Netflix Drive to Survive series. Moreover, in 2021, Verstappen revealed that he would not be participating any further in it. This announcement made immense noise in the paddock at that time. Now, in a surprising fashion ahead of the Australian GP, the Red Bull driver revealed why he prefers not to be a part of the booming Netflix show.

Despite F1 and other drivers agreeing and claiming that Drive to Survive is one of the main reasons why the sport received a new set of fans, Max Verstappen maintains his stance regarding the show. Previously, the Dutchman claimed that DTS dramatizes what the drivers say and makes stories out of thin air.

The reigning world champion recently revealed the main reason why he prefers to stay away from the hit series.

You don't see a lot of me on Drive to Survive, which is why I don't like doing it. You probably don't get the right side of me because it is just an interview, I am just sitting down in a dark room and I hate that. And there's always questions just about F1-related stuff which I don't like to talk about. Max Verstappen said in an interview with The Project

The 26-year-old mentioned that he does not like being a part of the DTS series altogether. He feels that it is just a two-way conversation while sitting in a pitch-black room. Moreover, Verstappen also does not like the fact that the questions are entirely focused on F1. All such factors ultimately forced the Red Bull star to withdraw from the series and stay away from it.

Max Verstappen clears doubts on his future with Red Bull

Speculations around Verstappen wanting to leave the Austrian giant have been at an all-time high. Moreover, the possibility of him moving to Red Bull’s arch-rivals, Mercedes seems a real possibility amid the turmoil in Milton Keynes. Now, the 26-year-old has broken his silence amidst all the rumors and has put to bed all the questions regarding his future.

When asked about whether the Dutchman will stay at Red Bull for the foreseeable future, Verstappen answered:

Once I stop driving! Good question. I dont really think about it too much anyway, I know I have a contract until 2028, so I guess that says enough. Max Verstappen said in an interview with The Project

Verstappen answered the questions in a humourous tone and affirmed his loyalty to the Austrian squad. While answering, he also reiterated the fact that he is contracted to Red Bull till the end of 2028 and would like to stay with the team for the foreseeable future.

However, the shenanigans at Red Bull still have not been resolved. This could result in the team losing its leader amidst the drama. It could also drive away other key personnel from the Austrian outfit.
