The ten players named to the All-OTE First and Second Teams were announced by the league on Thursday afternoon. Seven of the eight teams in the league had a player represented on one of the two teams, while every spot on the All-OTE First Team went to players from unique teams
The five players named to the All-OTE First Team were YNG Dreamerz’ Eli Ellis, Jelly Fam’s Ian Jackson, RWE’s Karter Knox, Cold Hearts’ John Bol and Blue Checks’ Rakease Passmore
Ellis was named the league MVP on Wednesday after leading the league in scoring and the YNG Dreamerz to the one seed in the playoffs. Jackson was in competition for the MVP award for most of the season after averaging 23.9 PPG and leading Jelly Fam to a nearly undefeated month of January. Knox became one of three OTE players to make history this season as one of the first players to be named a McDonald’s All-American season after averaging 23.1 PPG, the third-highest mark in OTE. Bol stood out as one of the league’s premier interior defenders for the Cold Hearts this season with 1.8 BPG, the best mark in the league for any player to play ten or more games. Passmore powered the Blue Checks all year long with 19.2 PPG while playing 32.5 MPG, both of which were top five marks in the league
The five players named to the All-OTE Second Team were RWE’s Daquan Davis, City Reapers’ Bryson Tiller and Jahki Howard, Cold Hearts’ Mikel Brown Jr. and Rolling Loud’s Larry Johnson
RWE’s Davis proved to be one of the league’s top playmakers this season, averaging a league best 5.8 APG, while also finishing the season as a top ten scorer. The Reaper’s Tiller used his athleticism and size to finish top-ten in the league in rebounds (3rd), blocks (5th) and dunks (3rd). Howard was the leading scorer for the second seeded Reapers at 15.1 PPG, while also being one of the most explosive dunkers in the entire league. Brown Jr. was the offensive engine that powered the Cold Hearts for much of the season, averaging 5.4 assists per game, a top five mark in the league. Johnson came on strong at the season's end for Rolling Loud, averaging 20.1 PPG and scoring 20+ points in his last seven regular season games
The YNG Dreamerz, City Reapers, Cold Hearts and RWE seasons will continue as they have all advanced to the OTE Semi-Finals which will begin on Friday evening
