On June 18th, Northwestern received a commitment from Class of 2022 safety Devin Turner out of Lone Star High School (TX).

S Devin Turner

Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 lbs

Hometown: Frisco, TX

High school: Lone Star

Turner also held offers from several Power 5 schools such as Arizona, Colorado, Duke, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and Washington State.

Turner is a hard hitting safety that will fit the mold of what you need to be successful in the Big 10. As seen on his film, Turner possesses the ability to both walk down in the box and fit the run while also maintaining the skillset to play the pass with ease.

When coming downhill, Turner does a great job at recognizing where the ball is and meeting the ball carrier at the perfect angle. As well he excels at open field tackling which can be seen numerous times throughout his film as he gets downhill fast to meet the ball carrier and minimize the yards gained.

Not only is Turner great at stopping the run but he can be a ball hawk in coverage, getting to the receiver with ease and either breaking passes up or snagging interceptions.

He flies around the field and is excellent in coverage. His ability to recognize the pass and break to the receiver will allow him to be a versatile defender for the Wildcats when he steps on the field for the first time.
