In what was supposed to be a main event tag team match, the April 3 episode of WWE RAW ended with Brock Lesnar shockingly ambushing Cody Rhodes.

Earlier in the show, Lesnar came to the ring to be Rhodes’ tag team partner after “The American Nightmare” challenged Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa to a tag team match. Paul Heyman stated that Rhodes would be barred from challenging for the title again as along as Reigns held the gold if he lost the bout.

Before the match could even begin, Lesnar ended any thought of one taking place, as he hit Rhodes with an F5. As Reigns and Sikoa quickly got out of the ring, Lesnar continued his assault, throwing around Rhodes before taking him outside of the ring and running him into the security barricade. After throwing him into the stairs and turnbuckle, he then tossed Rhodes back into the ring for more.

With officials and even Adam Pearce coming down to plead for Lesnar to stop, “The Beast Incarnate” grabbed a steel chair from outside of the ring and tossed it in. After setting it up in the middle of the ring, he then hit Rhodes with an F5 on it. He then grabbed a chair and blasted Rhodes with it. Lesnar finally exited the ring and ended the night by flipping off the officials and Pearce from the top of the ramp.

Though a stretcher was brought out for Rhodes, he walked to the back following the conclusion of the live broadcast.
