Former Tennessee Vols head coach Butch Jones has received plenty of criticism over the years for some of the comments, which have often lack self-awareness, that he's made during press conferences.

But the third-year Arkansas State head coach deserves some props this week for getting the Red Wolves to bowl eligibility.

After going 2-10 in 2021 and 3-9 in 2022, it looked like Jones' seat was red hot thanks to an 0-2 start that included a 77-0 loss to Oklahoma and a 37-3 loss to Memphis.

But Jones and his team stayed the course and they're now bowl eligible after winning six of their last nine games. And they reached bowl eligibility via blowout win against Texas State that included one of the wildest sequences ever in a college football game.

Arkansas State scored 28 straight points without the offense touching the ball.

There was a 91 yard fumble return, a 93 yard kickoff return, an 87 yard interception return, and a 50 yard interception return.

That's a sequence you almost never see in football.

Interestingly, though, Jones had a similar sequence in his second game as Tennessee's head coach in 2013.

Against Western Kentucky, Tennessee had five turnovers in the span of six plays. The Vols' offense saw the field during that stretch, but it was still a wild sequence.
