While BYU basketball was busy taking down Texas in convincing fashion, the BYU football program was in the middle of an important recruiting weekend. The Cougars hosted a combination of 2024 and 2025 recruits on campus. As part of those visits, BYU recruits attended the BYU basketball game to witness a sellout crowd cheering on the Cougars.

BYU hosted a handful of juniors on campus for Junior Day. They also hosted Lance Reynolds Jr. for an official visit. Here's a recap of a few of the recruits that were on campus.

Lance Reynolds - Athlete (2024)

Quarterback Lance Reynolds is the son of former standout BYU offensive lineman Lance Reynolds. Reynolds was offered by BYU clear back in March. Unfortunately, Reynolds suffered a torn ACL that limited his senior season.

Reynolds is listed as an athlete on 247Sports. BYU already has one quarterback committed that will play right away in Noah Lugo. They have another quarterback that will play after his mission in Enoch Watson. There are very limited scholarships at quarterback. Should he commit to BYU, he could end up playing quarterback or another position like safety or even wide receiver.

JP Mialovski - Quarterback (2025)

JP Mialovski is a 2025 quarterback from Long Beach, California. Mialovski is rated a low three-star recruit and he holds competing offers from Ole Miss, Indiana, Cincinnati, Cal, San Diego State, and San Jose State. Given his junior film, this author would be surprised if his rating doesn't increase by the end of the recruiting cycle. He could be a really, really good pickup for BYU in the 2025 class.

As a junior, threw for 2,900 yards and 33 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions. Mialovski displays great touch on intermediate and deep throws and he can make plays with his legs.

Grady Adamson - Quarterback (2025)

Another quarterback target, Grady Adamson is a quarterback from Oklahoma with competing offers from Boston College, Pitt, Tulsa, UNLV, USF, and Arkansas State among others.

As a junior, he threw for 2,600 yards and 28 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions. He also ran for 600 yards and 7 touchdowns. Adamson has a big arm and he forces defenses to account for his running ability. Adamson appears to have that natural ability to escape pressure and extend plays.

Like Mialovski, he has the kind of talent to be a starter at BYU should he commit to the Cougars.

Nusi Taumoepeau - Linebacker (2025)

Westlake standout Nusi Taumoepeau is one of the top prospects from Utah in the 2025 class. He is an outside linebacker that could play linebacker or edge at the next level. He holds competing offers from Miami, Oklahoma State, Washington, Arizona, Cal, Oregon State, and Washington State among others.

Taumoepeau has some of the best junior film you'll find. He has great speed, he plays with physicality, and he's a high-level tackler in space.

Tyler Payne - Linebacker (2025)

Weber High product Tyler Payne committed to Kalani Sitake and the BYU football program. Payne, a linebacker, is 6'2 and 210 pounds. He preps at Weber High in northern Utah. Weber High has produced BYU signees like Cannon DeVries in recent years.

As a junior in 2023, Payne was named the 6A Region 1 Defensive MVP. He is a violent linebacker that loves contact. On film, his ability to diagnose a play and disrupt what the offense is trying to do really stands out. You can check out his junior film below.
