The University of Louisville’s men’s golf team had a strong showing in the Sea Best Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida. After two rounds of play, they sit in third place, led by Max Kennedy’s even-par 140.

The Cardinals collectively scored a 14-over-par 574, trailing Florida by 12 shots, who leads the tournament at 2-over-par. North Florida is also ahead of Louisville in second place, shooting 9-over-par. Louisville started their spring season on Monday with a solid performance, shooting a 3-over-par 283 in the second round.

The third round of the invitational will kick off on Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the challenging par 70 TPC at Sawgrass Course.

Max Kennedy had an impressive second round, shooting a 5-under-par 65 after scoring a 75 in the first round. His strong performance moved him up to a tie for fifth place. Kennedy recorded five birdies in the second round, finishing the last four holes with three birdies. He was 8-over after 14 holes but managed to rally and sit just three shots off the lead, an impressive feat.

Sebastian Moss is tied for 11th place after shooting a 72-70 in his first two rounds of play on Monday. He shot even-par on the second round, thanks to a couple of birdies on holes 5 and 17.

Cooper Claycomb also had a solid performance, shooting a 75-71=146 to tie for 30th place. Easton Johnson sits tied for 44th place after shooting 75-73=148, while Clay Pendergrass is tied for 52nd with rounds of 76-73=149.

The University of Louisville’s men’s golf team is off to an impressive start in the Sea Best Invitational, led by Max Kennedy’s outstanding performance in the second round. With one more round to go, they will look to climb up the leaderboard and potentially secure a higher finish in the tournament.
