The University of Louisville track & field teams are gearing up for their first meet of the new year at the University of Kentucky’s Rod McCravy Memorial Invite. The two-day event, which will take place at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville, features tough competition from ACC rival Miami (FL) as well as Power Five opponents Cincinnati, Ohio State, and Texas.

The action kicks off on Friday afternoon with the men’s and women’s high jump at 12:00 p.m. Track events will begin with the first round of the women’s 60m at 3:00 p.m. Saturday morning will see the women’s triple jump, men’s pole vault, and women’s shot put starting at 11:00 a.m., followed by events on the track at 12:00 p.m. Live results for the meet can be found here, and a schedule of events can be found here.

The Cardinals are returning to competition after a successful start to the indoor season at the KTCCCA College Opener on Dec. 2. Three Louisville student-athletes were recognized by the ACC for their performances at the season opener. Trey Allen, Sophia Day, and Cade DeWitt all received weekly awards from the conference.

Allen claimed the men’s high jump title with a clearance of 2.24m (7-4.25), setting the best mark in the nation at the time. This earned him his second career ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week honor. Day, in her collegiate debut, excelled in the women’s triple jump and was named the inaugural ACC Female Freshman of the Week. DeWitt set a new Louisville freshman record in the men’s pole vault, clearing 5.23m (17-1.75), and was recognized as the ACC Male Freshman of the Week.

The Louisville Cardinals are eager to continue their strong performances as they take on tough competition at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invite.
